Indian Health, Yoga and Naturopathy
Indian Naturopathy, also known as Ayurveda, is a holistic system of medicine that includes Yoga and ancient Indian concepts like ‘Panchabhuta’. It emphasizes the Theory of Vitality, Theory of Toxemia, and the self-healing capacity of the body. Naturopathy offers various modalities of treatments for diseases and promotes healthy living in close proximity to nature.
Yoga, with its roots in ancient Indian philosophy, is a practice that unites individual consciousness with universal consciousness. It includes eight steps called “Ashtang Yoga”: Yama (restraints), Niyama (observances), Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (control of breathing), Pratyahara (withdrawal from worldly objects), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (integration of mind and body). Both Yoga and Naturopathy are gaining popularity as complementary and alternative medicine therapies. They focus on natural living and healing therapies based on the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. Practicing these principles can help in the prevention of lifestyle-related disorders and promote overall health.
